In Alpharetta, Georgia, just north of Atlanta, a group of men come together once a year for a week of in-depth Bible study. Those in attendance are serious students of the word. In their home congregations they function as elders, preachers, deacons, teachers, and in numerous other ways, but when attending the ABS, they function only as serious and dedicated students of the word. The venue for this study is the Hyatt Place on Windward Parkway just west of GA-400.
After a “Meet & Greet” dinner on Monday evening, the ABS begins on Tuesday at 9 a.m. and continues, with various breaks throughout the day, until 9 p.m. This demanding schedule repeats through Thursday evening. However, there is no evening session on Wednesday, as this permits those in attendance to meet for mid-week Bible study with various churches in the area.
Attendees are assigned a particular subject (or subjects) well in advance. This provides ample time for study, research and preparation. This assignment includes an article and lecture, both of which are reviewed and discussed by those in attendance in a Q&A session after each lecture.
One's participation in the ABS must not to be taken as an endorsement of any other participant's work/teaching. In other words, each man is ultimately responsible only for his own work/teaching.
In the menu above, under the year of occurrence, you’ll find a list of participants, their assignments, and the resulting book which consists of the combined work of all who participated. It is our prayer this material will be of some use to you in your study of God’s word.
